Who This Is For

Build It Labs offers robotics kits and supporting software for families, including Rover32, Skitter, Workbench, and Build It Buddy. Parents or guardians manage family accounts, register purchased bots, and oversee children’s use.

Adults, including parents, guardians, educators, troop leaders, and group organizers, should use their own contact details when joining the mailing list. Family accounts are managed by parents or guardians. Children should use the kits and software with supervision appropriate to their age and skill level.

Information We Collect

For interest signups, we collect the adult contact’s name, email address, selected kit or workshop interest, and email consent. City or area and builder or group age range are optional.

For customer accounts and setup, we process email addresses, authentication information, verification status, bot registration details, product access records, and download requests. Support messages may include information you choose to send us.

Learning software may save profile names, age information, kit selections, and learning progress on the family’s device. We also process authentication and session identifiers needed to operate the service.

How We Use Information

We use information to manage accounts, register bots, provide access to available app downloads, support setup and learning, respond to requests, and protect the service.

We use mailing-list details to send the kit news, workshop information, and community updates you ask to receive. Contact us if you want to stop receiving those updates.

We do not sell children’s personal information or use it for behavioral advertising.

Google Firebase and Device Storage

We use Firebase, Google’s app platform, for account sign-in, database storage, and delivery of app downloads. Google processes this information on our behalf under its data processing and security terms.

Information stored through these services is protected by Google’s Firebase security infrastructure. Build It Labs remains responsible for what we collect, how we use it, who can access it, and responding to your privacy requests.

Account and product registration records are stored online. Local profiles and progress may remain on the family’s device; deleting an online account does not automatically erase data stored on that device.

Parent Rights and Contact

A parent or guardian may ask to review personal information associated with their family, request a copy or deletion, refuse future collection, or revoke consent for future use. We may need to verify the request before making account changes.

For privacy, access, or deletion requests, contact builditlabs0@gmail.com. Do not include passwords or private kit registration codes in your message.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

Parent interest leads are deleted after 12 months if no kit purchase or activation occurs. Parent account and activation records are kept while the account is active and deleted within 60 days of a verified deletion request. Local profile and progress data remains on the family device until deleted by the family.

Information previously submitted for an optional community activity remains subject to the existing commitment to delete it within 180 days after that activity ends, or earlier on parent request. Consent records are retained for the period reasonably necessary to document lawful collection, even after other data is deleted.

These privacy request and retention commitments also apply to information already provided through earlier features. Removing a feature from the current offering does not itself delete previously stored information.

Keeping Family Information Private

Keep passwords and private bot registration codes confidential. Children should not send personal contact details, school information, or images of themselves to support.

Parents and guardians should handle account and support communications and include only the information needed to resolve the request.
